Potential rainfall rates: 25 mm per hour or higher. Locations: northern and coastal Charlotte county. Time span: early this morning. Remarks: A strong thunderstorm south of St. Stephen is moving to the east at 40 km/h. Hail is also possible. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall. Locally higher amounts possible. Locations: southern and central New Brunswick. Time span: overnight tonight until mid morning Wednesday. Remarks: Rainfall rates could exceed 40 mm per hour at times. Be sure storm drains and gutters are cleared of debris. Heavy downpours can cause flash flooding and pooling of water. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
