8:15 PM EDT Monday 16 September 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: Ear Falls - Perrault Falls - Western Lac Seul At 7:14 PM CDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts and heavy rain. This line of severe thunderstorms is located from Wine Lake to Ear Falls and is nearly stationary. Hazards: 90 km/h wind gusts Heavy rainfall with local amounts of 50 to 70 mm Locations impacted include: West English River Provincial Park, Halvorsen Lake, Aerobus Lake, Wine Lake, and Ear Falls. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
