Brief Description SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH
Detailed Description 8:16 PM CST Wednesday 21 August 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for: R.M. of Estevan including Estevan and Hitchcock Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, damaging hail and heavy rain. Thunderstorms will continue over the next few hours. There is the threat that some of these thunderstorms will be severe. Primary threat will be strong wind. There is a secondary severe thunderstorm threat over central Saskatchewan along an upper level jet. The primary threat with these thunderstorms will be very large hail and strong winds. Very large hail can damage property, break windows, dent vehicles and cause serious injury. Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
