10:29 PM EDT Tuesday 2 July 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: Atikokan - Shebandowan - Quetico Park At 9:29 PM CDT (9:29 p.m. EST, 10:29 p.m. EDT), Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing up to nickel size hail. This line of severe thunderstorms is located from Russell Lake to Crooked Lake, moving east at 55 km/h. Hazard: Dime to nickel size hail. Locations impacted include: Quetico Provincial Park, Crooked Lake, Russell Lake, Chatterton Lake, Keats Lake, Shelley Lake, Kawnipi Lake and McKenzie Lake. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
