Low pressure currently over the Pribilof Islands will continue moving eastward today and will reach the Kuskokwim Delta coast this evening. Southerly winds 35 kts with gusts to 45 kts this morning are expected to shift westerly this evening and last through Sunday for the Bristol Bay area. Waves will build to between 9 and 12 feet in the open waters of Bristol Bay and the southeastern Bering Sea Sunday morning. Westerly gale force winds accompanying wave heights of 9 to 12 feet will also push toward the coast of Bristol Bay by Sunday morning. Wave heights are expected to gradually subside later Sunday afternoon. Winds will also begin diminish through Sunday afternoon as well becoming mostly small-craft. Prolonged moderate to heavy rainfall is expected tonight through today. Those with marine interests along the Southwest Coast, especially across Bristol Bay and the northern Alaska Peninsula coast, should monitor the forecast closely for updates and take any necessary precautions.
