| Detailed Description | 7:57 PM EDT Tuesday 4 June 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: Seine River Village - Mine Centre At 6:56 PM CDT (6:56 p.m. EST), Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts and heavy rain. This line of severe thunderstorms is located from 15 kilometres west of Mameigwess Lake to Beaverhouse Lake, moving northeast at 65 km/h. Hazard: 90 km/h wind gusts. Locations impacted include: Flanders, Calm Lake, Smirch Lake, Dovetail Lake, Dibble Lake, Clearwater West Lake, Raleigh Lake, Abamategwia Lake, White Otter Lake, Turtle Lake, Mameigwess Lake, Butler, Halfmoon Lake, Mit Lake, Elsie Lake, Mabel Lake, Kukukus Lake, Sanford Lake and Indian Lake. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Hazards: Wind gusts up to 100 km/h Heavy downpours Nickel size hail Risk of a tornado Timing: This evening. Discussion: A line of thunderstorms will continue to push northeastward across the area this evening. The main threat with these thunderstorms will be strong wind gusts. In addition, the moist airmass will allow for storms to produce heavy downpours. Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road.
