| Detailed Description | Snowsqualls producing locally heavy snow. What: Snowsqualls giving up to 20 cm of snow. Hazard: - Sudden reduction in visibility in heavy snow over short distances - Changing road conditions due to heavy snowfall rates When: Now to late Tuesday afternoon. Where: Greater Victoria, Malahat Highway, Southern Gulf Islands, East Vancouver Island - from Fanny Bay to Duncan. Additional information: An unstable airmass combined with an area of convergence due to arctic outflow winds over the Strait of Georgia will continue to produce convective flurries along the east side of Vancouver Island tonight and on Tuesday. Snowfall accumulations will be highly variable depending on where the bands of heavy snow set up and the length of time a heavy band of snow remains over an area. Locally heavy snow will ease to a few light flurries late Tuesday afternoon. ### Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
