East Fork White River near Rivervale to Bedford and at Shoals. .Significant and some major flooding is already occurring or expected to develop along the East Fork White River and its immediate tributaries in Shelby and Bartholomew Counties. due to multiple rounds of heavy rainfall. and additional rains expected through Sunday. The crest on the East Fork should be in the Columbus and Seymour areas around Sunday evening and points downstream thereafter. * WHAT. Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE. East Fork White River at Columbus. * WHEN. Until Wednesday evening. * IMPACTS. At 15.0 feet, The river floods two of SR 46's 4 lanes just west of Columbus. Southern Crossing flooded at this level in June 2008. At least 10 homes in the Walesboro area began to flood or had water near their homes in December 2013. The river reading at Seymour was around 18.8 feet. Southern Crossing was closed by high water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 5:00 AM EDT Saturday the stage was 8.8 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this morning to a crest of 15.1 feet tomorrow evening.
