What: Wet snow near highway summits. When: Today for Kootenay Pass. Monday morning for all summits. Where: Okanagan Connector - Merritt to Kelowna, Highway 3 - Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass, Coquihalla Highway - Hope to Merritt, Coquihalla Highway - Merritt to Kamloops and Highway 3 - Princeton via Allison Pass. Additional information: An upper disturbance passing through the B.C. interior will produce wet snow near Kootenay Pass today. Local snowfall accumulations will be minimal, from trace to 5 cm. A Pacific front will approach the southwestern BC Interior Monday morning. Wet snow are expected over the highway summits as snow levels will be near 1200 metres initially. Snowfall accumulations from trace to 5 cm are expected on Monday. As snow level rises to above the summits Monday afternoon, snow will then change to rain. The exception will be near Kootenay Pass where wet snow is possible through Tuesday morning. Please be prepared to adjust your driving as weather conditions at high elevations may change quickly.
