Brief Description SPECIAL AIR QUALITY STATEMENT
Detailed Description 2:16 PM MDT Thursday 15 August 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for: Clearwater Co. near Rocky Mtn House and Crimson Lake Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Thunderstorms will continue to develop this afternoon and evening. Some of these thunderstorms may become severe. Thunderstorms will move towards the east, and weaken this evening. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Be prepared for severe weather. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
