| Detailed Description | The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Cottonwood River at New Ulm affecting Brown County. Cottonwood River Above Springfield affecting Brown County. Minnesota River at Montevideo affecting Chippewa, Yellow Medicine and Lac qui Parle Counties. Minnesota River at Mankato affecting Blue Earth and Nicollet Counties. South Fork Crow River at Delano affecting Wright and Hennepin Counties. Redwood River near Redwood Falls affecting Redwood County. Cannon River at Northfield affecting Rice and Dakota Counties. Minnesota River at New Ulm affecting Brown, Blue Earth and Nicollet Counties. Minnesota River at Savage affecting Scott, Hennepin, Carver and Dakota Counties. Minnesota River at Henderson MN19 affecting Le Sueur, Sibley and Scott Counties. Minnesota River near Jordan affecting Carver, Sibley and Scott Counties. Minnesota River at Morton affecting Redwood and Renville Counties. South Fork Crow River below Mayer affecting Carver County. Middle Fork Zumbro River at Pine Island 1S affecting Dodge and Goodhue Counties. .Widespread river flooding continues on the heels of multiple rounds of rainfall over the past few weeks, with some areas receiving double or even triple the normal amount of rainfall for the entire month of June over the past 10 days. Cresting is occurring at many smaller rivers with cresting on the mainstem Minnesota and Mississippi arriving later this week as water works its way downstream. * WHAT. Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. This approaches the flood of record. * WHERE. Cottonwood River at New Ulm. * WHEN. Until Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS. At 19.0 feet, All trails at Flandrau SP closed due to flooding * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 1000 AM CDT Monday, the stage was 19.1 feet. - Recent Activity. The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 1000 AM CDT Monday was 23.7 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to rise to a crest of 18.8 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage late Saturday evening. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet. - Flood History. This crest compares to a previous crest of 19.2 feet on 04/10/1969. |
