Brief Description Flood Warning
Detailed Description The National Weather Service in Wakefield VA has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Virginia. Meherrin River At Lawrenceville affecting Brunswick and Greensville Counties. For the Chowan Basin. including Lawrenceville. Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT. Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Meherrin River at Lawrenceville. * WHEN. From late tonight to Sunday evening. * IMPACTS. At 15.0 feet, Pasture land north of the river, downstream of the gage, begins to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 4:45 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 5.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Friday morning to a crest of 24.4 feet early Saturday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Sunday afternoon. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. - Flood History. This crest compares to a previous crest of 24.6 feet on 03/04/1994. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
