Brief Description Flood Warning
Detailed Description The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Flood Warning for portions of the following river in west central Indiana. Wabash River. .Flooding has begun along the upper Wabash River at Lafayette, Indiana, and the water level at Covington began showing a noteworthy rise that started Saturday afternoon and which is expected to continue through Sunday. The river level at Montezuma is anticipated to begin rising later this evening and continue through Sunday night. Crests at these locations are expected to be up to 5.5 feet above flood stage. Rainfall up to nearly 3 inches fell over northern central Indiana counties today. Dry weather through the upcoming week will aid recession of the water after the current surge moves through. Flood water at its highest point may affect a few county roads and top the Montezuma agricultural levee. Lower agricultural land likely will flood. Precautionary/Preparedness Actions. Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river conditions. For detailed flood information go to weather.gov/ind on the web and click on rivers and lakes. The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a * Flood Warning for the Wabash River at Montezuma. * from Sunday morning to Saturday November 25. * At 7:45 PM Saturday the stage was 7.4 feet. * Flood stage is 14.0 feet. * Minor flooding is forecast. * Forecast. The river level will begin to rise by 1 AM Sunday and continue to rise to above flood stage by late Sunday morning, cresting Tuesday around 19.4 feet. * At 18.0 feet. Montezuma agricultural levee is overtopped. Fourteen hundred acres of low bottomlands flood. &&
