Brief Description SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
Detailed Description 6:33 PM EDT Monday 5 August 2024 Special Weather Statement in effect for: Mississauga - Brampton Localized heavy downpours early this evening. Hazard: Torrential downpours giving 30 to 50 mm within a couple of hours. Timing: Through early evening. Discussion: Heavy showers and thunderstorms are affecting portions of the Greater Toronto Area. Intense rainfall rates are likely, although they will be localized rather than widespread. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office.
