Brief Description SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH
Detailed Description 3:35 PM ADT Wednesday 14 August 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: Guysborough County At 3:34 PM ADT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing pea to dime size hail and heavy rain. This area of severe thunderstorms is located from Popes Harbour to Isaacs Harbour North, this line is nearly stationary and may remain over the area for some time. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall. There is some potential for heavy rain to develop as a line of thunderstorms continues to intensify along the Atlantic Coast of Nova Scotia this afternoon. Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year.
