* WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE. A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Chatham, Harnett, Lee and Wake. * WHEN. Until 800 AM EDT. * IMPACTS. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 400 AM EDT, Although the heavy rain has ended, the 3 to 5 inches of rainfall overnight will result in continued rises along streams and creeks. Specifically, areas around Middle Creek will be prone to flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Raleigh, Cary, Sanford, Pittsboro, Garner, Fuquay-Varina, Goldston, Apex, Holly Springs, Morrisville, New Hill, Harris Lake Boat Launch, Shearon Harris Reservoir, Crosswinds Campground, Crosswinds Boating Center, Jordan Lake State Rec Area, Duncan, Seaforth Boat Dock, Jordan Lake and Moncure. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood |
