The Ventura County Air Pollution Control District has issued an Air Quality Alert due to increased particulate matter from blowing dust for all of Ventura County. This Air Quality Alert is IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM PST THURSDAY. VCAPCD Air Quality Alert for Blowing Dust from Wednesday November 6 at 7:00 am to Thursday November 7, 2024 at 4:00 pm. Strong Santa Ana winds will be dominant throughout the day stirring up high levels of dust throughout most of the county. For areas directly impacted by dust, particulate levels are likely to be elevated for several hours and could reach unhealthy levels. Please keep in mind Forecast AQI colors are meant to be as representative as possible for the 24-hr day. At times, air quality is likely to be better or worse than is indicated for the full day. If you are in an area directly impacted by dust, please exercise extreme caution and avoid vigorous outdoor or indoor exertion. People with respiratory or heart disease, the elderly, and children should remain indoors. Run your air conditioner if you have one. Keep the filter clean and fresh air intake closed. Close all windows and doors that lead outside to prevent bringing additional dust inside. If this is not an option or it becomes extremely hot inside, please seek alternate shelter.
