| Detailed Description | 7:18 PM EDT Thursday 13 June 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: Saugeen Shores - Kincardine - Southern Bruce County Owen Sound - Blue Mountains - Northern Grey County Hanover - Dundalk - Southern Grey County At 7:17 PM EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts and up to nickel size hail. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall. Watches 9:44 AM EDT Thursday 13 June 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for: Grey - Bruce Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Hazards: Strong winds gusts up to 100 km/h Nickel to toonie size hail Risk of a tornado Timing: This afternoon and early this evening. Discussion: Severe thunderstorms are expected to develop and track through the region today. Strong wind gusts and large hail are the main threats. Large hail can damage property and cause injury.
