| Detailed Description | 3:04 PM EDT Monday 29 July 2024 Special Weather Statement in effect for: Nipigon - Rossport Locally heavy rainfall in thunderstorms today. Hazard: Additional local rainfall amounts near 50 mm. Timing: This afternoon into this evening. Discussion: Thunderstorms have moved out of the area. However, thunderstorms are expected to develop later today and could produce additional heavy rainfall. Rainfall warnings may be issued. For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office. Visit Ontario.ca/floods for the latest details. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
