2:45 PM CDT Monday 22 July 2024 Heat Warning in effect for: Baker Lake Daytime high temperatures are expected to reach or exceed 26 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. A cold front will pass through the region Tuesday night, producing below seasonal daytime temperatures come Wednesday. Extreme heat can affect everyone?s health. The health risks are greater for older adults, infants and young children, pregnant people, people with physical and/or mental illnesses, and people with disabilities or mobility issues. Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions. Never leave people, particularly children, or pets inside a parked vehicle. Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
