Detailed Description
* WHAT. Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE. Portions of central and northwest Virginia, including the following areas, in central Virginia, Greene. In northwest Virginia, Madison, Northern Virginia Blue Ridge and Rappahannock. * WHEN. Through late tonight. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - There is an increased potential for flooding given saturated soils from last week's major flooding event. The heaviest rains will likely fall this evening. Total amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible, with locally up to 3 inches if the worst case scenario unfolds. - Please visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood for flood safety and preparedness information.
