| Detailed Description | 3:18 PM EDT Saturday 7 September 2024 Rainfall Warning in effect for: Chandler area Rain, at times heavy, is expected. Total rainfall amounts of 50 millimetres are expected. The rain will intensify this evening and persist into early Sunday morning. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to QCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #QCStorm . 10:34 AM EDT Saturday 7 September 2024 Storm Surge Warning in effect for: Chandler area Warning of potential breaking sea conditions and coastal flooding issued jointly by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (Science) and the Meteorological Service of Canada - Quebec Region. Higher than normal water levels with large waves are expected near the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula. An intense low pressure system will cause moderate winds over the regions below. The combination of these winds and the current period of medium tidal ranges could produce minor breaking sea conditions along the coast in and around the following locales on the dates and at the times specified (Eastern Daylight Time). Percé: 2024-09-07, from 03:50 PM to 06:50 PM. Chandler: 2024-09-07, from 04:10 PM to 07:10 PM. Flooding is possible along the coastline. Coastal erosion is possible in vulnerable areas.
