Brief Description Red Flag Warning
Detailed Description Complex fire weather environment evolves this weekend. .Hot, dry and windy conditions will remain in place over most of Oregon today, although approaching monsoon moisture from the south will increase the threat of lightning across the forecast area this afternoon and evening. Storms will likely be on the drier side today given available moisture in the air. The threat for storms is higher on Sunday as the moisture content increases. . FIRE WEATHER WATCH NOW IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING FOR ABUNDANT LIGHTNING ON DRY FUELS FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 624 AND 625. * IMPACTS. Given the recent prolonged stretch of very hot and very dry conditions, lightning efficiency will be high to very high for fire starts. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. * AFFECTED AREA. For the Red Flag Warning today, critical conditions due to gusty winds and low RH are expected north of a line from Chiloquin to Paisley while lightning on dry fuels is expected south. * WIND. Southwest 15 to 25 with gusts to 25 and 35 mph. * HUMIDITY. 7 to 12 percent. * THUNDERSTORMS. Isolated to scattered high based storms that are likely to have very little to no precipitation, especially outside of storm cores. Lightning strikes outside of precipitation cores are possible and cause for concern. * OUTFLOW WINDS. Gusts up to 35 mph. These outflow winds can travel up to 50 miles away from the thunderstorm that caused it. * ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. The best chance for storms will be Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening.
