| Detailed Description | 9:26 AM CST Monday 6 May 2024 Rainfall Warning in effect for: Shaunavon - Maple Creek - Val Marie - Cypress Hills Rain, at times heavy, is expected. A trough of low pressure developing over extreme southwest Saskatchewan into Alberta will bring significant precipitation to the area over the next couple of days. Showers with the risk of a thunderstorm or two are expected to begin near noon and continue throughout the remainder of the day and through Tuesday. Rainfall accumulations of 50-75 mm can be expected by Wednesday morning. Surrounding regions will have lesser rainfall in the 25-50 mm range. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
