| Detailed Description | 9:23 PM PDT Tuesday 21 May 2024 Wind Warning in effect for: Metro Vancouver - North Shore including West Vancouver and North Vancouver Metro Vancouver - southwest including Richmond and Delta Metro Vancouver - central including the City of Vancouver Burnaby and New Westminster Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring. Where: Western part of Metro Vancouver. When: This evening. What: West to northwest winds gusting to 90 km/h. Remarks: Strong gusty winds associated with a trough of low pressure will arrive in Vancouver late this evening. Heavy rain and a risk of thunderstorm can be expected as well. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. High winds may result in power outages and fallen tree branches. Where: Metro Vancouver - North Shore and Metro Vancouver - northeast. When: Tonight. Rainfall amounts: 50 mm. Remarks: A frontal system has brought rain heavy at times to some regions of Metro Vancouver today. The rain will reintensify this evening and ease early Wednesday morning. Rainfall amounts of 50 mm are expected by Wednesday morning. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
