| Detailed Description | 6:38 PM MDT Tuesday 11 June 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: Co. of Stettler near Byemoor and Endiang Flagstaff Co. near Forestburg and Galahad Co. of Stettler near Donalda Co. of Paintearth near Halkirk and Big Knife Prov. Park Red Deer Co. near Elnora Lousana and Delburne Camrose Co. near Bashaw and Meeting Creek Co. of Stettler near Stettler Nevis and Rochon Sands Co. of Stettler near Big Valley Co. of Stettler near Botha and Gadsby At 6:37 PM MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain. This line of storms is located from north of Edmonton to east of Calgary and is moving 50 km/h to the east. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall. Watches 5:45 PM MDT Tuesday 11 June 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for: Red Deer - Ponoka - Innisfail - Stettler Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and large hail. Severe thunderstorms are expected early this evening. Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!
