| Detailed Description | 3:40 PM PDT Tuesday 13 August 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: Boundary At 3:39 PM PDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing pea to dime size hail and heavy rain. This severe thunderstorm is located 5 km west of Fife and is slowly moving east towards Highway 3, Christina Lake Marina and Gladstone Provincial Park. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall. For the Okanagan Valley, the greatest likelihood of severe thunderstorms will be over the ridges, particularly east of the valley. Hail is also possible.
