| Detailed Description | The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in North Carolina. Neuse River Near Clayton affecting Johnston County. * WHAT. Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Neuse River near Clayton. * WHEN. Until late tonight. * IMPACTS. At 9.0 feet, Minor flooding begins. Minor overflow occurs on both banks. Water reaches the edge of the Neuse River Greenway trail. At 10.0 feet, Upstream of the gage site, the Neuse River Greenway at Covered Bridge Road begins to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 8:15 AM EDT Monday the stage was 8.9 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this morning to a crest of 9.3 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late this afternoon. - Flood stage is 9.0 feet. - Flood History. This crest compares to a previous crest of 9.3 feet on 10/12/2018. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood |
