Brief Description Flood Warning
Detailed Description The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Georgia. Alabama. Chattahoochee River at West Point affecting Troup, Lee, Chambers and Harris Counties. For the Chattahoochee River Basin. including Whitesburg, West Point. Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHAT. Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Chattahoochee River at West Point. * WHEN. From this afternoon to late tomorrow morning. * IMPACTS. At 17 feet, Minor flooding begins. City Hall. Police. and Fire Departments get some minor water into edge of parking lot. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 9:00 AM EDT Friday /8:00 AM CDT Friday/ the stage was 7.4 feet and rising. - Forecast. The river is expected to rise above flood stage this afternoon to a crest of 17.3 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late tonight. - Flood stage is 17 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
