| Detailed Description | 10:31 AM ADT Sunday 28 July 2024 Heat Warning in effect for: Postville - Makkovik A period of very warm and humid weather is expected. Time span: today through Monday. Maximum daytime temperatures today: 29 to 31 degrees Celsius (Humidex 34 to 36). Minimum overnight temperatures: near 19 degrees Celsius. Maximum daytime temperatures Monday: 28 to 32 degrees Celsius (Humidex 33 to 37). Locations: Upper Lake Melville and the Labrador coast from Postville to Lodge Bay. Remarks: Cooler conditions can be expected where winds blow onshore and along the immediate coastline. Extreme heat can affect everyone?s health. Check several times a day on older family, friends and neighbours. Make sure they are cool and drinking water. Never leave people, particularly children, or pets inside a parked vehicle. Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
