Brief Description Flood Warning
Detailed Description * WHAT. Flooding caused by an ice jam is occurring. * WHERE. Yukon River near and upstream of Pilot Station. * WHEN. Until 800 PM AKDT Sunday. * IMPACTS. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Water will remain high until the ice jam releases. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 804 PM AKDT, trained weather spotters reported an ice jam on the Yukon River near and upstream of Pilot Station. Impounding water due to the ice jam located downstream of Pilot Station will cause river rises upstream. - Water levels at Pilot Station have slowly risen today with water overbank and flooding roads in lower portions of the village. As of early Saturday evening, water surrounded the Tribal Office, AC store, Tribal Store, and as many as 5 houses. Water will continue to slowly rise until the ice jam releases. Water levels have risen approximately one foot between 7 AM and 7 PM Saturday. - Some locations that will experience flooding include.
