9:12 PM CST Tuesday 20 August 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for: R.M. of Maple Creek including Cypress Hills Prov. Park Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Time span: Late tonight through to tomorrow morning. Summary: Thunderstorms have developed over portions of Montana and will track northeast towards the watch area later this evening. The strongest storms will pose a risk of large hail and locally damaging wind gusts. Thunderstorm activity will persist through to tomorow morning. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Be prepared for severe weather.
