| Detailed Description | 10:51 PM MDT Wednesday 24 July 2024 Rainfall Warning in effect for: M.D. of Opportunity near Red Earth Creek and Loon Lake Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms have developed this evening and will continue overnight as they push northward. Amounts of 20 to 40 mm are likely by morning although there will be quite a variation with thunderstorms. Storm total rainfall amounts of 70 to 90 mm are likely, with local amounts possibly exceeding 100 mm. Heavy rain will taper off Saturday morning. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts. Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
