| Detailed Description | THE PASSAGE OF A COLD FRONT TO BRING RED FLAG CONDITIONS TO WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA THIS AFTERNOON. .A cold front will pass through west central MN around noon today. Southwest winds will become west-northwest behind the front, with the winds gusting to as high as 40 mph this afternoon. To go with those winds, afternoon humidity values are expected to fall to between 20 and 25 percent, resulting in critical fire weather conditions. The National Weather Service in Twin Cities/Chanhassen has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 8 PM CDT this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * WIND. South shifting to the west sustained at 20-25 mph gusting to 40 mph. * HUMIDITY. As low as 20 to 25 percent. * IMPACTS. any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. |
