6:03 AM ADT Thursday 27 June 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: Saint John and County At 6:03 AM ADT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain. This storm is located over the Bay of Fundy, south of Saint John and is moving northeast at 40 km/h. Rainfall amounts exceeding 30 mm are possible. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall. If you hear thunder, then lightning is close enough to be dangerous.
