Brief Description SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
Detailed Description 9:23 AM EDT Friday 2 August 2024 Special Weather Statement in effect for: Vaughan - Richmond Hill - Markham Heavy rain in slow moving thunderstorms today. Hazards: Torrential downpours. Rainfall amounts of 30 to 60 mm. Locally higher amounts possible. Timing: This morning into this evening. Discussion: Slow moving thunderstorms could produce locally heavy rainfall today. Rainfall warnings may be issued. For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office. Visit Ontario.ca/floods for the latest details. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
