9:24 PM MDT Wednesday 24 July 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for: Leduc Co. near Leduc Beaumont and Kavanagh Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Thunderstorms have developed. Some of these thunderstorms will become severe tonight. The risk of severe thunderstorms will last until after midnight in central Alberta, but will last until tomorrow in eastern and northeastern Alberta. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
