ESFABQ The coverage of thunderstorms will be lower for the Sacramento Mountains today through the upcoming weekend; however, the risk for flash flooding will persist, especially over and downstream from recent wildfire burn scars. This risk includes the McBride, South Fork, Blue 2 and Salt burn scars. Any storm that develops will be capable of moderate to locally heavy rainfall in a short period of time and this may result in significant to potentially major flash flood impacts. It is critically important for individuals in these sensitive areas to remain weather-aware, have multiple avenues to receive NWS warnings, and be prepared to take appropriate action to seek higher ground if a warning is issued. Please follow the guidance and any evacuation orders from local officials, and do not drive through flood waters.
