8:31 PM CDT Tuesday 20 August 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: Tadoule Lake At 8:31 PM CDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain. A line of severe thunderstorms is located just southeast of Tadoule Lake, moving northeast. Hazard: 90 km/h wind gusts and nickel size hail. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Time span: Tuesday evening into Tuesday night. Summary: Thunderstorms continue track eastward from Saskatchewan towards the watch area. The strongest storms will pose a risk of large hail and locally damaging wind gusts. Thunderstorm activity will persist into the overnight hours and may continue into Wednesday morning.
