Madison County Emergency Management continues to report gradually rising water levels in portions of southeastern Madison County east of Lee and areas around US 90 as well as areas south of I 10 east of State Road 53 and the Suwannee River. Water levels remain high in the vicinity of I-10 and exit 262, but flood waters are not impacting access to or travel on Interstate 10. All of the flooding is due to past heavy rainfall from Hurricane Debby. Flood waters are continuing to gradually shift slowly south and east toward the Suwannee River. * WHERE. A portion of Big Bend Florida, including the following county, Southeastern Madison County. * WHEN. Until 130 PM EDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 1247 PM EDT, Madison County Emergency Management reports continued flooding in the warned area. - Flooding will likely persist through this week as water runoff from Hurricane Debby continues from more than 2 weeks ago. With high groundwater levels, locations near small creeks, springs, or sinks in Southeast Madison County could be prone to flooding on relatively short notice.
