| Detailed Description | The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a Coastal Flood Watch, which is in effect from Sunday afternoon through Tuesday evening. * LOCATION. Goodnews Bay and other communities west of Cape Newenham. * COASTAL FLOODING. Water levels as high as 3 to 6 feet above normal highest tide are possible. * TIMING. Water levels begin rising Sunday afternoon. While water levels will be elevated between Sunday afternoon and Tuesday evening, the worst conditions are expected from Monday night through Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS. Southwesterly to westerly winds may cause higher seas and surf, contributing to erosion and flooding along the coast. |
