Brief Description Flood Watch
Detailed Description * WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE. Portions of northwest North Carolina, including the following areas, Alleghany NC and Wilkes and Virginia, including the following areas, Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Botetourt, Buckingham, Campbell, Carroll, Charlotte, Floyd, Grayson, Roanoke and Rockbridge. * WHEN. From Thursday morning through Friday evening. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - As Tropical Storm Debby moves across the region, a prolonged period of rain, heavy at times, can be expected from Thursday morning through Friday. Rainfall amounts between 4 and 7 inches are possible across the area by Friday snight, with locally higher amounts possible. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
