| Detailed Description | 4:53 PM MDT Tuesday 2 July 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: M.D. of Opportunity near Red Earth Creek and Loon Lake At 4:52 PM MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain. These thunderstorms are located north and west of Red Earth Creek and are moving to the southeast at 20 km/h. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
