| Detailed Description | 12:14 AM EDT Thursday 11 July 2024 Rainfall Warning in effect for: Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale Rainfall continues through early this morning. Hazard: As of 12 AM EDT, general rainfall amounts of 40 to 80 mm have been observed since Wednesday morning. Additional rainfall amounts of 20 to 30 mm are expected locally. Timing: Continuing through early this morning. Discussion: Periods of heavy rainfall associated with the remnants of Hurricane Beryl continue. Rainfall amounts are highly variable across the region. Rain will taper to scattered showers through early this morning. For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office. Visit Ontario.ca/floods for the latest details. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
