| Detailed Description | 8:13 PM EDT Tuesday 18 June 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: Mont-Tremblant - Sainte-Agathe area At 8:13 PM EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. The health risks are greater for older adults, infants and young children, pregnant people, people with physical and/or mental illnesses, and people with disabilities or mobility issues. Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions. Reduce your heat risk. Watches 7:27 PM EDT Tuesday 18 June 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for: Laurentians Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and torrential downpours this afternoon and this evening. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Water-related activities may be unsafe due to violent and sudden gusts of wind over bodies of water.
