| Detailed Description | * WHAT. Flooding caused by an ice jam continues to be possible. * WHERE. YUKON RIVER AT CIRCLE * WHEN. Through Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - The Yukon River at Eagle broke up early Thursday morning. The breakup front that was stalled downstream of Eagle near the Tatonduk River has started moving again and as of Sunday afternoon was past the Charley River. The breakup front and associated 25 mile run of ice has been advancing without any jamming or overbank flooding as of this writing. With the breakup front again on the move there is a chance for minor to moderate flooding when it reaches Circle, which could be as early as Monday but may be slowed by additional ice jamming. - Http://www.weather.gov/aprfc - If you live near or along the Yukon River stay alert and be prepared to take action. |
