Brief Description SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
Detailed Description 9:17 AM EDT Friday 9 August 2024 Special Weather Statement in effect for: Webequie Prolonged period of rain continues through Saturday. Hazards: Rain at times heavy. Total rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 mm, with locally higher amounts still possible. Timing: Continuing through Saturday. Discussion: A slow-moving low pressure system will produce rain, which will be heavy at times through Saturday. Periods of rain are expected to continue into Saturday, before the system gradually exits the area. Local rainfall amounts in excess of 50 mm are possible, especially for areas that receive thunderstorms. Some areas may be upgraded to rainfall warnings if needed. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
