| Detailed Description | * WHAT. Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE. Portions of central, north central, and northeast New Mexico, including the following areas, in central New Mexico, South Central Mountains. In north central New Mexico, East Slopes Sangre de Cristo Mountains and Southern Sangre de Cristo Mountains. In northeast New Mexico, Northeast Highlands. * WHEN. From Saturday afternoon through Saturday evening. * IMPACTS. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Thunderstorms will produce locally heavy rainfall, with rates of up to 2-3" per hour, over the HPCC and Ruidoso area burn scars on Saturday afternoon and evening. There is a high risk for flash flooding on and near those burn scars. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood |
