| Detailed Description | * WHAT. Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 12 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. Visibility reduced to as low as one half mile at times. * WHERE. Thompson Pass. * WHEN. From 6 PM Friday to 10 AM AKDT Saturday. * IMPACTS. Plan on slippery road conditions. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. Snow is expected to develop late Friday evening and continue through Saturday morning with a period of heavy snow possible early Saturday morning. Temperatures are expected to remain at or slightly below freezing through mid morning Saturday with snow levels hovering around 2,800 ft. Temperatures are expected to warm into the mid 30s by late Saturday morning, changing the snow to rain. The combination of wind and snow could reduce visibility to as low as one half mile at times. |
