| Detailed Description |
* WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE. Portions of east central, northeast, south central, and southeast Kentucky, including the following counties, in east central Kentucky, Bath, Elliott, Estill, Fleming, Menifee, Montgomery, Powell and Rowan. In northeast Kentucky, Johnson and Martin. In south central Kentucky, Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle and Wayne. In southeast Kentucky, Breathitt, Clay, Floyd, Jackson, Knott, Lee, Magoffin, Morgan, Owsley, Perry, Pike and Wolfe. * WHEN. Through Sunday morning. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - A stalled frontal boundary will remain situated across the Ohio Valley today and tonight, before finally moving southeast on Sunday. Repeated rounds of showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain rates are expected through the weekend. On average, rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is forecast through Sunday across the region which for most areas would be falling on top of soils saturated by rain that has fallen over the past couple of days. If these amounts materialize, additional instances of flash flooding as well as flooding of larger creeks and rivers is possible. |
